Sin Cristo estábamos muertos espiritualmente – Without Christ we were spiritually dead

Y él os dio vida a vosotros, cuando estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

En los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo, siguiendo la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia.

In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

Entre los cuales también todos nosotros vivimos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo la voluntad de la carne y de los pensamientos, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

Dios intervino con su gracia – God intervened with his grace

Pero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos amó.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.

Aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia sois salvos).

Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).

Y juntamente con él nos resucitó, y asimismo nos hizo sentar en los lugares celestiales con Cristo Jesús.

And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Somos salvos únicamente por gracia mediante la fe – We are saved by grace alone through faith

Efesios 2:8-9 (RVR1960)

8 Porque por gracia sois salvos por medio de la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios; 9 no por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

La gracia también transforma nuestra manera de vivir en este mundo – Grace also transforms the way we live in this world

Porque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviésemos en ellas.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Así que ya no sois extranjeros ni advenedizos, sino conciudadanos de los santos, y miembros de la familia de Dios.
